Starting Friday night, parts of I-696 Westbound will be closed. This is a long-term project that will extend through the summer and into fall with I-696 not expected to open until at least November. While Eastbound I-696 will still be open, additional traffic can be expected throughout the area, making this the perfect time to try out SMART!
SMART offers several crosstown routes that can easily navigate you around the closed patch of I-696. Don’t worry about rerouting your commute, sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic, or adding the wear and tear to your vehicle. When you ride SMART, we handle the detours and watch the road so you can relax!
