SMART Basics

SMART is the “everywhere connection” for metro Detroit. We offer different ways to help you connect to work, to school, to wherever you need to be. This section includes general information for riding all of SMART’s different services. To help you get familiar with riding, take a few minutes to view our helpful how to videos on the left.

Fixed Route

The easiest, most-affordable way to travel, with stops at designated times and locations through Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.

Shuttles

When Fixed Route is not available to get you to your destination, a SMART same day shuttle may do the trick!  SMART Dial-A-Ride, Flex Route, and Shuttles are curb-to-curb services for work, school, shopping, medical appointments, and to connect you to SMART Fixed Route buses.

Connector

Travel within a 10 mile radius of any Connector service area with this advance registration, curb-to-curb service.
